Fun stuff I am working on

Many problems have been solved. Some have not. Below are some everyday problems I am working on.

💼

Narrative-Based Hiring

Context: Hiring
Problem: Hiring is hard and full of issues on both sides of the process. Recruiters rely a lot on CV "facts & figures" as well as on obscure AI filters to work the application pile down to a few promising "facts looking good" candidates. There are two huge issues here: Facts do not carry meaning. Especially not the applicant's truth. Secondly, AI matching works with suboptimal information, as application materials like resumes are designed for human readers, not machines. So, in its current form, these filter mechanics are destined to fail.
Solution: Our brain is wired for narrative, not facts. In order to help both, recruiter and applicant, the solution is to provide the applicant with a narrative, that is as attention-grabbing as a great movie, so that the recruiter gets to read the applicant's take on what they can do for them.

Context: I love road cycling, but I don't want to cycle when it's raining. I want to know the next available weather windows for a trip.
Problem: Weather apps are very technical and route planning apps don't consider weather at all.
Solution: One-click cycling window checker that allows me to check my favorite routes and lets me define what weather is acceptable.

Innovation System for Professional Football

Technologies used
LumeDenoTypeScriptDeno KVTailwind CSS

Context: I am interested in high-performance best practices for individuals and teams and I am a football fan.
Problem: Unlike other sports overflowing with a thirst of innovation, in Professional Football the general dynamic to break common mindsets and patterns appears very low.
Solution: Investigate, what innovations are truly making the difference on the pitch? We're conducting the first comprehensive study across Europe's top five leagues and publish it as a peer reviewed article and as part of Innovation system for Professional Football book.
